QHMG/Quartz Hill Information’ Runaway June have formally introduced their sophomore album, New Type of Emotion, set for launch on September 19.
Mixing fashionable country-pop with conventional fiddle, mandolin, and pedal metal, the 13-track mission showcases the trio’s signature mixture of friendship, empowerment, independence, and heartfelt love songs. “Even the unhappy songs are enjoyable,” says founding member Jennifer Wayne.
The group — Jennifer Wayne (vocals, rhythm guitar), Natalie Stovall (vocals, fiddle, mandolin), and Stevie Woodward (lead vocals, guitar, harmonica) — co-wrote 11 of the album’s 13 tracks and collaborated with a formidable group of producers together with Kristian Bush, Ron Honest, Mickey Jack Cones, Stone Aielli, and Austin Moody.
“I need individuals to know that this album is authentically Runaway June,” shares Stovall. “We have been in numerous phases of life over the three years it spans, and the songs mirror that journey.”
