Nashvillian and Grand Ole Opry member Ashley McBryde picked up her first guitar as a younger woman and commenced crafting songs by the age of 12. Her ardour for music grew as she joined her highschool marching band, taking part in trumpet and French horn. Later, she attended Arkansas State College finding out music with the intention of turning into a band director – till a professor inspired to pursue her dream of being an artist. Now the GRAMMY Award winner is coming full circle as she is ready to obtain an Honorary Doctorate in Music from her alma mater.
“All people referred to as my dad Doc and all people referred to as his dad Doc. I at all times puzzled what that felt like – the delight that crammed their chests after they have been addressed by that title,” shares McBryde. “I’m past grateful and so humbly honored to be acknowledged by my Alma Mater with a Doctorate in Music. To know I now carry that title in a area that has been my life’s ardour and objective is a sense I’ll cherish eternally.”
